Sometimes, but on a roof this young it's worth ruling out an installation problem before assuming wind damage. The most common causes are nails driven above the shingle's rated nailing zone or too few per shingle, a factory sealant strip that never fully activated (it needs sun and heat to bond, and shingles installed on a shaded slope or in cool weather can take a season), or a shingle line with a lower wind rating than the property actually needs. All three look identical to storm lift from the ground. An inspection that checks nail placement and sealant bond, not just the visible lifted tabs, is what actually tells you which one you have.

Most metal roof problems are repairable — backed-out fasteners, failed sealant at seams and penetrations, and isolated panel damage are all routine fixes rather than a reason to replace the roof. The harder cases are matching a discontinued panel profile or color, and widespread corrosion on an older exposed-fastener roof.
